People message me about partner codes all the time. Usually the same question: can you get free trades or lower spreads?
No. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code doesn't touch it.
Code 128979 unlocks the deposit bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. That's all it does.
How much here bonus do you receive?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Top tier is $14,000 on deposits over $100,000. Most people won't hit that.
UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
Account minimum is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
The field is hidden
During registration. After you enter your phone number, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click on that text. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Complete your registration. Reach out to your account manager first. Tell them you want 128979 applied. They do this manually all the time.
There's a catch with the bonus
There's a volume requirement.
Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.
Your own money stays yours. Access it whenever you need. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Worth mentioning: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
AvaTrade in brief

Scalpers. The spreads are fine but not exceptional. ECN brokers will beat them on cost if you're trading high volume.
Those looking to buy actual equities. No real share ownership here.
Traders based in the US. Not available in the United States.
